once a cougar, always a cougar

I was so homesick last week. Our weekend in Atlanta with Mom & Dad was absolutely heaven sent! We had such a fun time! It was a really quick trip but it was packed full of fun and family time.

We met up with Mom & Dad Friday afternoon.

We were all starving. We headed out for a fabulous (seriously delicious) dinner at Houston's. We had artichokes; steak; ribs; coleslaw; potatoes in every form--fried, mashed, baked; fish; key lime pie; brownie sundae; apple cobbler; hot fudge sundae. It was delightful! I definitely wouldn't want to eat like that every day, but once in a while it sure is fun!

After dinner we went to Olympic Park so the girls could run, play, and tumble. They'd been cooped up far too long.

Saturday the girls found a couple BYU players in the hotel:

We tailgated with some Georgia Tech fans (Dustin's work friends) and were excited to have Aaron, Kensie, and Maycie join the fun. We watched a burrito eating contest put on by a local radio station (yuck yuck yuck). The band, cheerleaders, football team, coaches, and Buzz (the mascot) walked right past our group of tailgaters--down sorority row. It was really neat. Apparently they do it before every home game. The players were all dressed in suits and slapping fives with the fans. It was great. I think it's such a cool tradition!

BYU played well so the game was a lot of fun to watch! The cheerleaders were right in front of us, as was Cosmo, so the girls were totally entertained.
The weather was cool; it smelled like football weather. It brought back so many childhood memories of going to BYU football games with Dad. It was a great day!

We even made it on TV. My cousin, Carlton, posted this picture on Instagram.

Mom & Dad left early Sunday morning. Before we headed home we stopped at Stone Mountain for a little hiking. It was chilly outside; there were beautiful autumn leaves all around us. It was fabulous!

Tater decided to rest for a minute...
